Pouring Boiling Water Onto a Fire Ant Nest

I had to pour boiling water over an aggressive, stinging fire ant nest. The result was heart-stopping! This was an act to help save the native ant colonies in my yard, since fire ants are invasive in my country, as they are in most parts of the world. Senior myrmecologists (scientists who study ants) recommend people with fire ant problems pour boiling water over an ant nest to kill them. So, I gave it a try. Hope you enjoy this week’s video!
