This is the first song I had ever heard by Boris Kovačič, on a video tape my dad had of Ansambel Borisa Kovačiča with Matej Kovačič on accordion which I would repeatedly watch as a kid when I started learning to play the accordion. It was some of my earliest exposure to Slovenian/Oberkrainer music including the visuals of the Slovenian narodna noša costume (Oberkrainer tracht) and the Zupan accordion that Matej was playing on the video, which inspired me to eventually own a Zupan inspired accordion like this one.
