A military-engineered virus, released during a plane crash, kills the entire human population. The only survivors are scientists in Antarctica, who desperately try to find a cure and save what is left of the planet from further destruction. This is the full 156 minute original cut of the film, which is notable for being the most expensive Japanese film ever made at the time.
