Cyberslacking and multislacking: “деятельные бездельники“ Eng / Rus Subs

Today we’re going to talk about two slang words: cyberslacking and multislacking. Both of these are familiar to all office workers, unless Internet access is restricted in the office. The word cyberslacking means “to prevent you from doing work properly by using the Internet“ — for example, when you have a Facebook feed open and it distracts you from business. Its twin, the word multislacking, describes the same action, but emphasizes the connection with multitasking. For example, when you have a working email in one window and a dozen non-working tabs in the others, which you’re distracted by in turn. For instance: — My boss is away on a business trip so the whole office is cyberslacking shamelessly. — We just got an email notification that our internet access is going to be restricted as of next week! Cyberslacking has become a real efficiency problem so they have to do it now. Great news for us. — I hate it when I work my ass off while my colleagues are cyberslacking and are totally unapologetic about it.
