Mary Chipperfield - Animal Trainer Aka Woman Animal Trainer (1964)
Southampton, Hampshire.
At Southampton Zoo, Mary Chipperfield trains a variety of animals for acting roles in films. She is seen outside with some big cats and leading her cheetah past some penguins. Indoors, she grooms and cuddles Teddy, the cheetah, who was in the film ’ The Moon Spinners’, and feeds Frederick, the bataleer eagle.
Beautiful shots of the cheetah. The lion cub, Simba, is seen resting on the bed with Torus the Alsatian, who has a paw round him. Mary grooms the lion cub and rocks him like a baby. She sits down to tea with James the four year old chimp, who tries to behave but ends up drinking out of the spout of the tea pot. He gets a kiss from Mary anyway.
