Jeep Lifesavers Aka Lifesavers (1963)

Perranporth, Cornwall. Lifeguards demonstrate lifesaving with the use of a jeep. Life guards in matching caps march up beach, one is attached to rope. C/U of Perranporth flag held by a lifeguard. Three guards look through telescope, they notice someone in danger. C/U bell ringing. The guards jump into a jeep and speed off down beach. The guards jump out as jeep reaches water’s edge. One guard runs into water, the others let out the rope attached to him. C/U other end of rope coming off winch on jeep. Driver of jeep, Angus Easson, talks on radio to girl at base, Lina Rogan. M/S guards carrying victim (in fact lifeguard Colin Oakes) from water, he is placed on a stretcher and given mouth to mouth. The victim is placed on back of jeep, they drive away.
