The “Electromatic“ (1932)

Full title reads: “London. The ’Electromatic’ - Lord Mayor inaugurates new traffic control system at our busiest traffic centre.“ London. Several men in top hats and bowlers gathered around. One man is addressing speech to Lord Mayor of London, Sir Maurice Jenks, who is to inaugurate as system of traffic control unlike any in Europe. The speaker talks about the way the system operates - by vehicles passing over sensors in the road. C/U wheel of car passing over sensor in road. Cut back to speech making as he continues. Sir Alexander Roger (?) hands over the key to the system to the Lord Mayor. The Lord Mayor takes the key and reaches up to insert it into the control box. High angle shot of traffic in crowded London street. The traffic stops and people cross the road. (Natural sound track only - No commentary) N.B. First part of story is out of sync.
