Rugby, Leicestershire.
At Rugby Radio Station we see several shots of GPO riggers being trained and testing equipment. A man is hoisted up the huge Copt Oak radio tower in a swing chair; another has a safety wire attached to his harness; he climbs a step ladder then steps off and swings around, held by the wire. We see another man climb up the tower with a Paraguard rescue stretcher in a pack strapped to his back; he arrives at a point on the tower where an injured man lies, attended by two other men. The injured man is strapped to the unpacked stretcher and lowered over the edge of the tower.
At the Rugby Telegraph Communications Mast we see experienced riggers moving up the outside of the mast in a kind of winch lift. At a very high height (three thousand feet according to the commentary) they carry out repair work, painting and hammering. One man is seen climbing up a ladder on the mast and looking out at the view.
