Disney sets eyes on Polynesian princess, Moana

Polynesians are getting the Disney treatment with their own cartoon princess called Moana. A first glimpse at the newly released concept art shows the main character Moana Waialiki, the daughter of a chief who descends from a long line of navigators. Moana will join a very short list of princesses of colour which include Pocahontas, Jasmine and the first black princess, Tiana. The movie is set for release in 2018.
