DIY Gabion Basket - Designing the Basket 🛠🏢🏡

I had to figure out how to make a basket out of a roll of horse fencing roll that would fit in the channel I created. So I cut a tester piece and quickly realized that the tape measure wasn’t the way to go. You needed to count the rectangles, and the width was five rectangles. So I began testing and prototyping ways to create the basket. I determined that the best way was to cut a long piece of fencing and bend it to create the sides. The bends would be at five rectangles and 24 rectangles. So I would only need to make one connection to seal the sides and then attach a top and a bottom. My original connection method was to use hog rings, but I realized that if you made your cuts at the rectangle halfway point, you could use the excess to weave the pieces together. After much trial and error, I came up with an inside/outside method that felt like it created a strong basket. I still may need to build some additional structure in the middle, but here’s the first version of my DIY gabion basket. I&
