SKULL CRACKER is a sidescrolling beat-’em-up/platformer developed by CYBERFLIX and published by GTE ENTERTAINMENT in 1996. The game is set in an alternate universe where vampires, werewolves, zombies and other supernatural beings (or “Freaks“) have become a common sight on the streets, living among and doing business with humans. The Freak population was formerly suppressed by MEI (Mortality Enforcement, Inc. -- a worldwide Freak extermination business), but citizens have become so used to seeing them that they’re no longer worried, and Freaks have begun to organize politically and demand civil rights. Shortly before SKULL CRACKER begins, a highly addictive and mutative narcotic named Goop begins to circulate in the States. Dealers and mysteriously financed distribution points have appeared to dispense Goop to the citizens.
