Ukraine: Anti-LGBTQ+ protesters scuffle with police in Kiev amid rave Pride rally

Subscribe to our channel! Opponents of an LGBTQ community rave Pride rally, held outside the Ukrainian president’s office, scuffled with the police on Friday in Kiev. The anti-LGBTQ protesters could be seen chanting slogans and throwing stones and other objects at police officers, who blocked the approach to the office. The police used tear gas and batons to disperse the protesters. According to Kiev police, several participants of the rally were detained. The organisers and participants in rave rally support the draft bill on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences and the Criminal Code of Ukraine on combating discrimination. The bill would make discrimination against Ukrainian citizens based on skin colour, language, sexual orientation, or gender identity punishable with prison time.
