1972 HITS ARCHIVE: Geronimo’s Cadillac - Michael Murphey (mono 45 single version)
Murphey’s debut hit (the original LP version ran 4:39) was a far cry stylistically from his more successful later ballads “Wildfire” and “What’s Forever For.” He would place 22 singles on the Billboard Country charts during the 1980s, changing his professional billing to Michael Martin Murphey in 1984.
Pop Chart Peaks: Billboard 37, Record World 48, Cash Box 49
Transferred from mono 45 single A&M 1368 - Geronimo’s Cadillac (Murphy-Quarto) by Michael Murphey, produced by Bob Johnston
THE 1972 HITS ARCHIVE - Here in one place, a comprehensive collection of ‘pop’ best-sellers and songs which made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1972 (some were recorded in 1971)
