Anti-fascist protesters and Tommy Robinson supporters face off in Telford

Footage of Tommy Robinson supporters in Telford, Shropshire, this afternoon, clashing with anti-fascist demonstrators, some from groups Stand Up To Racism and Unite Against Fascism. Tommy was releasing the latest episode in a series of films, which was made in response to the Telford child sexual exploitation scandal. Around 100 anti-fascist demonstrators crashed the screening, protesting his presence. Anti-racist group, ‘Stand Up To Racism’, who were at the rally, said on social media: “Assorted fascist and Nazis thugs gathering at #TommyRobinson’s hate rally in Telford.” Tommy also led his supporters on a march around Telford. At one point, outside Telford police station, a scuffle took place as officers tried to make an arrest - reportedly of a drunken protester. According to police, “We arrested four people who were involved in antisocial behaviour before two protests in Telford town centre earlier today.” Superintendent Jamie Dunn, the Telford Local Policing Commander, said: “I’d like to thank local residents, businesses and those visiting the town centre today for their support and understanding while the protests took place.
