Beykoz Mecidiye Kasrı. A Mansion Made of Marble. İstanbul Mecidiye Pavilion, also known as Beykoz Palace, is one of the oldest pavilions in Istanbul and is located in the Hünkar Pier area of ​​Beykoz. The construction of the pavilion, which was started to be built by the Egyptian Governor Mehmed Ali Pasha as a gift to Sultan Abdülmecid in 1845, was continued during the reign of his son, Egyptian Governor Said Pasha, upon the death of Mehmed Ali Pasha in 1849, and the building was completed in 1854. Architectural Features of Mecidiye Pavilion. Rising on a symmetrical square plan and consisting of two floors, the ground floor and the first floor, there is a pull-out floor added to the ceiling of the middle hall on the upper floor for the space to receive more light.
