Happy Birthday Taler On 9 January 1520, the Czech diet passed an edict determining the technical specifications of a coin, whose name was to write history. The guldiner from Joachimsthal was born. His name lives on in our taler. Hence, 2020 we celebrate the 500th birthday of the taler. A perfect occasion to tell its story!
