Shadow work - Chikankari is a rich tradition. White Chikankari with Gota work adds a beautiful and elegant combination. Gota work also known as ’Gota Patti’ is used in rich ethnic traditional Indian embroidery. It is an applique technique where small cut pieces of zari is applied on the fabric and the edges are embroidered to create beautiful patterns / designs. This is my all time favorite for ethnic occasions. This design can be easily done on necklines, panels, all over and even borders. Stitches - Herringbone stitch also known as chikankari stitch, laisy daisy stitch, buttonhole stitch, stem stitch. Please do share your comments and feedback.
