WBBM Channel 2 - CBS Network - The Bad News Bears - “Nakedness Is Next to Godliness“ (Partial, 1979)
Here’s the first (approx.) 17 minutes of a first-run broadcast of the short-lived TV series adaptation of The Bad News Bears, entitled “Nakedness Is Next to Godliness“ (S01E03), as aired on the CBS Network over Chicago’s own WBBM Channel 2.
The series starred Jack Warden as Morris Buttermaker, manager of the hapless little-league team the Hoover Junior High Bears, and Catherine Hicks as Dr. Emily Rappant. Among the more notable Bears are an old friend of the Fuzzy community, Meeno Peluce (half-brother of Soleil Moon Frye) as Tanner Boyle, Billy Jacoby (later to be known as Billy Jayne) as Rudi Stein, and Corey Feldman (years before the film “Stand By Me“) as Regi Tower. Amazingly, it lasted well into the next season before finally folding.
