Akai MPX8 & Arturia Beatstep reduex

Use the Beat step to sequence the sampler by assigning midi notes on the beat step, from 36-44 and transmitting over midi ch 10. Additional software is not needed, but can make beat step programming easier. Directly connect midi from the Beat Step to Akai. Essentially the beat step is triggering an midi note on the Akai sampler, the note corresponds to the sound assigned to the Akai pad assigned to the same number ie BSP pad 1 = note 36 = Akai pad assigned to note 36, pad 2 to note 37, etc. There is no way to determine tempo and the Akai only play a single note at a time, so there are limitations... hope this answers some people’s questions... Have fun and enjoy! P.S. I originally posted this video 5 years ago. I don’t have either of these units anymore. Please don’t blow up at me if the information provided isn’t enough to get going. This is a very common set up for most people.
