One camera. One take. No edits, no tricks, no special effects. This is Victory from Lord of the Dance: 25 Years of Standing Ovations, performed in Manchester on the final day of the LOTD25 UK tour. Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance has evolved tremendously since 1996. For instance, if you took the Feet of Flames World Tour 2000 and Dangerous Games 2014 and put them side by side, while both are unmistakably LOTD shows, they’re wildly different experiences. So for this 25th anniversary show, where the original 1996 show is honored, it’s a fun balancing act of classic and new in equal measure: celebrating a billion-dollar heritage while pointing to an exciting future. And the beating heart of that future: the undeniable power of the greatest team of dancers in the world, performing Michael Flatley’s evergreen choreography at full throttle.
