21 ISIS members arrested in northeast Syria
On January 28, during a large-scale operation of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against ISIS militants in northeast Syria, 21 members of the organization were arrested (SDF press).
On January 27, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), together with international coalition forces, announced the start of the 3rd stage of the above-mentioned operation. It is noted that this is “a response to increased ISIS activity” in the area.
SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) is a military alliance formed in 2015 with the support of the US-led international coalition in Syria. The core of the alliance is the Syrian wing of the Kurdish military-political organization PKK - YPG, operating in northeast Syria.
