Antonov An-2R Colt RA-40728 Monoplane TR-301 Антонов Ан-2P

The Antonov An-2 Colt (Антонов Ан-2) is a Soviet single-engine biplane utility/agricultural aircraft designed and manufactured by the Antonov Design Bureau since 1946. The Antonov An-2 Colt is used as a light utility transport, parachute drop aircraft, agricultural work and many other tasks suited to this large slow-flying biplane. Its slow flight and good short field performance make it suited for short, unimproved fields, and some specialized variants have also been built for cold weather and other extreme environments. This video shows a strange, unusual Antonov An-2 Colt monoplane display during MAKS 2015. In fact it is a TR-301. Its design is based on AN-2 but without lower wings. As a result, we have a plane which is lighter by 450 kg and has a consumption of fuels and lubricants reduced by 20%, with the same useful load as of AN-2 - 1400 kg. TR-301 has a wing area almost half as much as of AN-2, but it still has the same takeoff flight distance as of AN-2.
