Uss Forrestal Blaze (1967)

Sea of Tonkin, Vietnam. Various shots aboard the American aircraft carrier USS Forrestal with crew fighting to save her from dying by fire after aircraft explosion on launching. We see the crew fighting the fire as planes explode about. Other planes are pushed overboard into the sea. Some of the 130 dead are carried away past holes in the deck caused by the intense heat melting the thick armour plating. (F.G.) Date found in the old record - 03/08/1967.
