Maddo - Tajik

Musicians from the village of Rin in Ishkashim, in the Pamir region of Tajikistan, perform an example of Tajik-language maddo, involving the recitation of lyrical or devotional poetry set to music. Also may be called qasoid (ode). Produced by Husniya Khujamyorova, Nicole Galpern, and Ross Perlin
