The Spanish Quarter is a big area in the historic center of Naples, expanding to about 800,000 square meters. Think of it as a semi-pedestrianized grid created in the 16th century to house Spanish garrisons. Some decades ago, the area was not considered safe, but now this has changed and it’s tourist-friendly. There are many economical traditional restaurants to dine at.
