Bach - Cantata Liebster Jesu, mein Verlangen BWV 32 - Van Veldhoven | Netherlands Bach Society

In the delicate and tender cantata ’Liebster Jesu, mein Verlangen’, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, the soul enters into dialogue with Jesus. The associated gospel text is about the twelve-year-old Jesus, who escapes his parents and is only found several days later in the temple. The soul can be interpreted as the Virgin Mary who has lost her child, but also as a human soul that has lost its connection to Jesus. Recorded for the project All of Bach on September 26th 2015 at St Martin’s Church, Groningen.
