There are several legends about the development of Dishu states it that Dishu Quan was started practicing in Ming Dynasty. Another states the the folk hero Fong Saiyuk was a master of Dishu Quan who passed on his skills to monks in the Zhuyuansi/Guanyuan Temple(Chengde,Hebei Province).So it was passed down for several generation till the monk Hui Kai, who was said to be a fellow of nun Si also was said that the art was developed by nuns of the Buddhist White Lotus Temple(白莲庙) of Fujian Province.
