The Musicals II: Hope is the title of her new EP and features three much-loved songs from top Musicals, songs that exude optimism, strength and humanity. The song “Memory“ from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical “Cats“, follows the well-known tender ballad “Over the Rainbow“ from Harold Arlen’s Musical The Wizard of Oz and the iconic “Climb every mountain“ from the Oscar-winning Musical “Melody of Happiness“ with music by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein completes the trilogy – a tribute to the acclaimed performer’s vision for a better world. The EP “The Musicals II: HOPE“ is the second part of Manja Vlachogianni’s pioneering, demanding and successful collaboration with the distinguished female string quartet Enchord String Quartet. The four leading musicians, members of the largest Greek orchestras that surround the multifaceted artist are Brunilda - Evgenia Malo on the violin, Second Principal in the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and Kitti Vardami, Second Principal in the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT. On the viola we hear Gerta Sinai, a member of the State Orchestra of Athens, and on the cello, Mirela Routsi, First Principal in the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens. The orchestrations for voice and string quartet are signed by conductor and arranger Panagiotis Vlachos.
