Был придуман Биллом Мантло и Китом Гиффеном и впервые появился в комиксах в седьмом выпуске серии Marvel Preview, летом 1976 года. Он умный, гуманоидный енот, который является экспертом в тактике и очень метким стрелком. В 1985 году он получил собственную ограниченную серию комиксов, состоящую из четырех номеров. Впервые на телевезионном экране ракета появился в 2010г как член Стражей Галактики в серии «Майкл Корвак» мультсериала «Мстители. Величайшие герои Земли».В котором неизвестная сила наносит удар по 4 тюрьмам для сверхлюдей, и десятки опаснейших суперзлодеев вырываются на свободу. Самые могучие супергерои объединяются в альянс под названием Мстители, чтобы вернуть вырвавшееся на свободу зло за решётку и остановить различные угрозы для человечества. В 2012 Реактивный Енот появляется в серии «Стражи Галактики» мультсериала «Совершенный Человек-паук» а также известного как Великий Человек-паук. Далее Ракета появляется в мультсериале Мстители, общий сбор!или - Команда Мстители 2013г. По сюжету сезона появится Бражник,который вместе со Стражами Галактики поможет Мстителям и героям из другой вселенной остановить злодея. В 2014г Актёр Брэдли Купер сыграл Енота-Ракету в фильме Стражи Галактики, являющегося частью кинематографической вселенной Marvel. Герой был создан с помощью компьютерной графики и технологии захвата движения енота Орео, находящегося на съёмочной площадке. В фильме его называют просто Ракета, по классификации Корпуса Нова - “Объект 89П13“. О существовании таких животных, как земные еноты, он не имеет ни малейшего понятия. По затраченному экранному времени Ракета — даже более главный персонаж, чем Звёздный Лорд. Raccoon Rocket - a character from the comics of the company Marvel.
