The F-4E Terminator 2020 is the most modern variant of the legendary Phantom II family, upgraded by Israel under orders from the Turkish Air Force. The Turkish Air Force began significantly modernizing a number of Phantom fighters in the late 1990s, signing a $632 million deal with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). 54 of the approximately 200 F-4Es in inventory are upgraded to Terminator 2020 standards.
