Former AFN chief wants full apology from Pope Francis
Phil Fontaine, former national chief of the Assembly of First Nations and a residential school survivor, told CBC chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton that he strongly believes there should be an apology from the Pope and the Vatican for the Catholic Church’s role in running many of Canada’s residential schools.
