TOOL Forty Six & 2 - Maya & Yoyoka (Live Session)

First time ever I am playing a full song one-on-one with a drummer! And it is with the amazing 14 year old Yoyoka Soma from Japan (now living in Los Angeles)! Recently we got connected and she invited me to her place. I met her for the very first time in LA when I was there a couple of weeks ago. After a chat, we went to her garage and the very first song we played was this - Forty Six & 2 by TOOL. The amazing part was, we never rehearsed, we had never played together before, this is the first time we are seeing each other and our first take itself came out so perfect! Just like that! Even with the crazy polyrhythmic time signatures in the bridge. I couldn’t believe how amazing it felt when I was playing with her. It’s like we both were communicating through music and just like that our first song, first take, first time ever, turned out to be as if we have been playing this together all the time!
