Kunihiko Bando’s JZZ30 Soarer Rebuild - The RSC300 Part 1 - Shop Visit

After making it into Tsukuba’s top 5 fastest drivers with a TC2000 time of , Kunihiko Bando had not been able to best that time set in December of 2019. So after the 2021 season, he made the difficult decision to scrap his current JZZ30 and begin work on a new build. After 2 long years of rebuilding the machine from an entirely different chassis, he is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I visited Bando’s workshop in Ibaraki a few weeks ago to see the new car, and document the car towards the end of the build before we see it fully assembled and on the track for its first shakedown. The car was built to the WTAC regulations as Bando plans to bring the car to Sydney once again after getting the car dialed in here in Japan. While the Soarer retains the same engine built by AutoBahn, the rest of the build is almost entirely new. The car’s initial shakedown took place last week at Hiro Sinoi Circuit and went without issue. Part 2 of this cars rebuild is planned
