Merit Hemmingson, born 30 August 1940 in the village Gärdsta in Marby parish in Jämtland, is a Swedish organist, composer and singer. She became rikskänd in the late 1960s for its modern poparrangemang of Swedish folk music. Already in the mid-1950s, Merit played piano in various jazz-influenced dance bands in Jämtland.
