Urvakan Festival stories | Mike and his Artifacts

Urvakan’s Mike Btkn constantly finds himself in a search. Be it an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Yerevan or a Dilijan forest, he’s always in search of artifacts. Just as the festival itself breathes new life into abandoned spaces, Mike does the same to the objects he finds. He re-imagines, transforms and subverts the original use of the found objects, which, having undergone an alchemical exchange, turn into pure treasure. An artifact not necessary bound to its production or its original design purpose. Abandoned cupboards, mezzanines, tables, all kinds of garbage - all of the items found carry different types of energy, and all of them can potentially be used as festival decorations.
