Signatures Issue Title - Sign Please (1943)

Note: Probably filmed in the Pathe Studio. M/S of man in suit smoking cigarette. He signs an autograph and hands it over to a young school boy. The boy reads the signature and says “....I though it was Jimmy Cagney“. He rips out the page and throws it away in disgust. C/U of hand opening autograph book. A message inside reads: “BY HOOK OR BY CROOK I’LL BE THE LAST IN THE BOOK“. C/U of word scribbled out and new message underneath. C/U of hand writing the name Joe Noble on piece of paper. The paper is folded before the ink in dry. It is reopened and now resembles a beetle. Re-enactment of Queen Ysabella of Spain selling her jewels so that Christopher Columbus would have enough money to build a fleet of ships. C/Us flicking through he pages of Joe Noble’s autograph book which includes names such as Edward Terry, Mark Sheridan and Charles Coburn.
