Nurnberger Symphoniker - Conductor Kachun Wong Sergei Nakariakov - Flugelhorn/trumpet 1st piece : Rococo variations by Tchaikovsky 2nd piece (@ 19:46) Carnaval de Venice by Arban I remember when I was a conservatory student (classical saxophone) and hearing him play; I was blown away by his incredible virtuosity and the beautiful sound he gets out of his instruments. Inspired me a lot and especially his reworkings of cello repertoire (like Rococo variations) played on the beautiful sounding Flugelhorn (comes closer to the sound of saxophone than trumpet;-). There are great trumpet/cornet players (Hardenberger, Marsalis, Roger Webster, Friedrich etc..) but what Nakariakov did/does is waaay beyond what was done before he arrived; he’s a leader in a field of one.
