Myofascial Release for Sore Glutes

Myofascial release is a technique used to treat pain believed to be caused by stiff myofascial tissues. The technique presented in this video uses a foam roller and body weight, which allows the trainee to control the amount of pressure put on the muscles and ligaments, and specifically on the glutes, hip external rotators, and Piriformis. Myofascial release is a therapeutic technique meant to release tightness in the myofascial tissues that surround and support the muscles along the body. It affects muscles and ligaments that aren’t usually stretched, which might be painful and should be performed gradually.
