Torrential Monsoon Rains Hit Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute July 2021

Torrential monsoon rains in and around Dharamsala in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh caused flash floods and devastation. The heavy rains fell on Jul 11th and 12th and washed away cars and damaged buildings. The Nuns’ Media Team at Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute near Dharamsala have documented the heavy rains and the water as it rushed down the hillside. We are thankful to the late MN Ashish Ganju, architect of Dolma Ling, for his careful design of terraces and water channels which diverted most of the water and kept the nuns and nunnery safe.
