Air tankers extinguish Arizona fires; 1,000 evacuated

Air tankers battled brush fires burning near Scottsdale, Arizona this week, with local media reporting 2,500 acres are on fire with some 1,000 people forced to flee. The fire, named the ’Diamond fire,’ is reportedly the ninth in five days and started on Tuesday (June 27). Hundreds of firefighters have been successful in putting out the flames blazing dangerously close to homes but it is yet to be completely contained with temperatures soaring, according to local media reports.
