China has hailed local sprinter Su Bingtian for becoming the first Chinese and only the second Asian runner to qualify in the men’s 100m Olympics final. The 32-year-old set a new Asian record in the semi-finals with a barnstorming time of seconds, but missed a medal by finishing sixth in the final.
