This veneer hanging lamp is similar to one that I saw years ago in a Fine Woodworking magazine.
The ribs are made of 6mm Baltic Birch plywood and the top and bottom rings are Cherry wood. The veneer strips are Maple and there is a link below to these.
The second top ring was really unnecessary but I hadn’t decided how I wanted to mount the light bulb fixture until I had already made the lamp structure. Once I decided to cut a second ring to hold the bulb fixture, I realized that the first ring wasn’t needed.
