Demonstration of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga primary series by Kristina Karitinou Ireland under the guidance of Derek Ireland (1949-1998) Derek Ireland was responsible for introducing the method of Ashtanga in Europe. A beloved student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Derek was the first European that gave Teacher Trainings in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga across Europe and Asia . Derek Ireland established the first Ashtanga Centre in Europe and he was and still is an inspiration to many senor teachers around the world!
