Sonja Henie 1912-1969

Sonja Henie 1912-1969 was the most famous Norwegian woman of the 20th Century, a claim she might very well still inhabit..... This is her story, but there are some notable errors She was the first Box-Office star to appear in a anti-nazi drama; “Everything Happens at Night“ 1939 chased by the Gestapo and her so-called nazi-ties were never built up until the 80s when her Brother co-wrote an expose.... The Norwegian Royal Family were very careful of whom they supported and they would never have visited her in Hollywood, seen her shows or attended her funeral if she indeed had been a nazi or striped.... She did however make the Nazi Salute before and after her appearance at the 1936 Olympic Games. In her 1953 biography she expained that no Norwegian was a member of the Jury(and she was enititled to have one) and thus made the most of it. When the athletes marched in front of Hitler after the games she is shown in white and passing him without making any acknowledgment. Likewise - it`s been a myth for decades that her last Fox-films and popularity dimmed and died at the Box-Office.... She was among the 25 most popular stars until at least 1944 - and both Iceland and Wintertime made over for 2oth Century-Fox. Iceland grossed and Wintertime dollars in the US alone... The Henie-Onstad Arts Center was not opened in 1958, but 1968!!!
