Shinpo Matayoshi Kobudo - Shodokan - Eku

This is the earliest known footage of Shinpo Matayoshi taken sometime in the 1960s. It is filmed at the Shodokan dojo of Seiko Higa where Matayoshi Sensei lived for a short time with his family after returning to Okinawa from Japan. Shinpo taught his father’s kobujutsu techniques independently to interested students. Studying from Shinpo at this time were Kimo Wall and Tetsuhiro Hokama.
