I’m sending you this message backstage from the MTV European Music Awards in Budapest, where we remembered #GregLake at a dinner on the sideline of the show with many of today’s stars. Back in 2004, we played a show on German television whose lineup is probably unique to this day: among others Jack Bruce (Cream) played bass and sang, Jon Lord (Deep Purple) sat at the Hammond organ, Bobby Kimball (Toto) and Chris Thompson (Manfred Man’s Earth Band) sang, and Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake & Palmer) played guitar and sang as well, Ian Anderson @Jethro Tull played the flute, Peter Frampton played guitar, and Manfred Mann on the synthesizer.
