Duke Visits Disabled (1920)

Nr. Andover, Hampshire. Intertitle: “DUKE of CONNAUGHT - ever zealous in the welfare of the disabled soldier - visits Enham Village Centre“. Prince Arthur, the Duke of Connaught visits a home for soldiers disabled in the First World War. Various shots of the Duke making his way round a crowded garden to shake the hands with disabled soldiers. He shakes the hand of one man with a bandaged head who is carrying a toddler in his arms, the Duke pinches the baby’s cheek. The Duke is taken to a section of the garden where one of the soldiers using some sort of mechanical device - this could be a demonstration of the ways that the soldiers are put to work ( he might be making rope ).
