Moustaches (1954)

Paddington, London. Clean-shaven man (Bertram Godwin) enters a salon and is greeted by ’moustachier’ Gerald Rex . He sits down beside a man who is trying on a moustache and looking at himself in a mirror. The moustachier helps our man to pick out several sample moustaches from a board and try them on. The other customer tries out some moustaches, including a very large handlebar. He has fun putting the ends in odd positions, like to his eyebrows and onto his chin. Our man eventually decides on a moustache, pays the moustachier, then walks out and down the street, newly ’tached’. Note: commentator refers to the moustachier as Bertram Godwin. Godwin is actually the customer we see going in; his business partner Gerald Rex is the assistant. Cutting and notes on file. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
