Ugress - Emmerwhy Ghosts (work-in-progress)

“New weird“ experiment on memory and emotional manipulation. This is work-in-progress for the upcoming Retrotopia album (coming October 4th, 2024), I’m testing out new music, sounds, intruments and visuals during regular livestreams. This track references themes and aesthetics of the late 90s / early 2000s era of new weird. An cynical tech-bro scientist harvests emotions and sells them as drugs. I’m testing out gfx, voice samples and a brand new virtual flute I built myself, instead of using a physical modelling (like a mathematical model of a flute) I made one based on samples of real flutes, which conceptually should “fit“ the concept of Retrotopia more? But I’m not so sure.. I think there were some interesting ideas in there but right now I don’t think this track is going anywhere further, it was an okay experiment and that’s it. As usual with my work-in-progress it doesn’t really have an ending, it just... ends.
