Plywood shield vs broadsword, katana, axe, kriegsmesser, and war hammer

The making of this budget center-grip shield: Its measurements are authentic but the material of course is not (plywood instead of planks made of linden, fir, spruce or pine, and canvas instead of linen). The weapons used in this test: 1.) Scottish basket hilt backsword by Hanwei 2.) Ko katana (Dojo Pro line) by Ronin Katana 3.) Shirasaya katana (traditionally forged differentially hardened blade) 4.) Viking light axe by Sharp Blades 5.) Two-handed Hungarian axe by Arms & Armor & Armor Hungarian Axe&afid=28632&tm=14&im=1 6.) War hammer by Arms & Armor (older model) and Armor War Hammer&afid=28632&tm=14&im=1 Who doesn’t like random acts of destruction, eh? :) The shield held up pretty well. The plywood seems to have a little more resistance against cuts than planks do. It’s only a 3-ply board though, with the grain of two out of three layers running in the same direction.
